The Psalmist writes, “The rulers take counsel together against the Lord, saying let us break their bonds in pieces and cast away their cords from us.” In his address given at Harvard, Solzhenitsyn said, “We have placed too much hope in political and social reforms, only to find out that we were being deprived of our most precious possession, our spiritual life.” Commercial interests tend to suffocate it. This is the real crisis. Erwin Lutzer, in one of his sermons, made this statement, “God will judge America for her sins.” The judgments are already coming. Yes, it is so sad to have to write it, but dark days lay ahead for all of us, especially for Christians.
